Report: Liverpool interested in 21-year-old midfielder with 'great future'; Grujic could be part of a swap deal
The publication is claiming the star is managed by Marcelo Cipriano, who knows Pini Zahavi. The Israeli agent has received some interest over the 21-year-old.
They claim that Marko Grujic could be used as a make-weight for the player. The 11-cap Serbian spent last season on loan with the Portuguese giants, making 39 appearances across all competitions.
Despite having a €30m (£25.8m) release clause, Vieira could leave for just €20m (£17.3m). It’s an identical clause to Vitinha, who joined Wolves on-loan last summer with an option to buy.
Rui Jorge has tipped Vieira to have a ‘great future‘.
TBR View: Vieira transfer would add quality to Liverpool midfield
A swap transfer between Vieira and Grujic would bring an enormous amount of quality to the Liverpool midfield.
The youngster was in outstanding form for his country during the recent under-21 European Championships.
Vieira won the player of the tournament award following Portugal’s loss to Germany last week.
Despite his tender age, the ace has already made six appearances in the Champions League.
And was a key component in the 2020 UEFA Youth League for the Portuguese outfit. Vieira scored three times in five games as Porto beat Chelsea in the final.
His vision and passing abilities means he can play in a raft of different positions. Vieira featured in central, right, left and attacking midfield for Porto.
With Grujic providing next to nothing for Liverpool, a swap deal for a more talented, younger player makes sense.
At 21, the midfielder can be the jewel in Liverpool’s crown for years to come.
