Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Jude Bellingham, one of the best young talents in the England setup.

According to Eurosport, the Reds have been monitoring the Borussia Dortmund midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.

Bellingham has made 46 appearances for his club in all competitions this season.

The 17-year-old has also won four caps for England and could add to his tally at Euro 2020.

Bellingham started against Austria in last week’s pre-tournament friendly at Wembley.

At 17 years and 338 days, he became the youngest player to start an England game since Wayne Rooney against Liechtenstein in 2003.

Speaking on the BBC Match of the Day Top 10 Podcast, Gary Lineker waxed lyrical about Bellingham.

The England legend was discussing Phil Foden as he listed his 10 most exciting players heading into Euro 2020.

Alongside Foden, Lineker is also very excited by the prospect of Bellingham.

“Of all the young English players, it’s quite exciting isn’t it,” he said.

“Look at Sancho, he plays in Germany and he can play that boy.

“Bellingham is also there who is what? 17? He’s unbelievable.

“The two games against City, he was up there with the best players on the pitch.

“If you’ve got it, it’s the old adage isn’t it? If you’re good enough you’re old enough.”

Liverpool could be after a “phenomenal” player

Gareth Southgate recently hinted that Bellingham will have a significant role to play at Euro 2020.

“Jude is phenomenal,” he told talkSPORT last Tuesday.

“Just in training in the last couple of days, to have a 17-year-old, who wants to compete with senior players, not only has the technique, but the competitiveness and maturity… he’s a hugely exciting player.

“He’s going to be an important player for England. We’re not just taking him for the experience.”
