Video: Tottenham star spotted removing Manchester United ace from centre stage in World Cup training
A lot of eyes are on Brazil at this World Cup, with the Selecao boasting a number of names from the English Premier League this time around.
The likes of Richarlison, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli are all in the Brazil squad. But the English contingent doesn’t stop there, with Fred, Antony and Casemiro all selected from Manchester United.
All six of those aforementioned players will hope for a big role in Qatar. However, some might have to settle for a smaller role than others. Especially, it seems, United midfielder, Fred.
Well, that’s if Tottenham forward Richarlison has anything to do with things.
Richarlison puts Fred in his place in Brazil team photo
The Spurs forward was spotted on video actively removing Fred from the middle of the upcoming team photo. In the video – shared by the Selecao Info Twitter account – Richarlison can been seen making the United man move from the middle spot, insisting that Fred knows that is reserved for Neymar.
Of course, Neymar remains the poster boy of this Brazilian side. Despite them hosting a wealth of attacking talent, Neymar remains the main man in the attack and it’s a case of who plays with him, rather than instead.
Richarlison, then, seems to be doing his best to get in Neymar’s good books here!
TBR’s View: Richarlison and Neymar can be lethal for Brazil
The Tottenham striker is expected to lead the line for Brazil and with Neymar buzzing in and around him, Brazil have quite the attacking threat.
For the rest of the teams in Qatar, Brazil’s strikeforce will be a worry. They have so much depth that even if Neymar is to come off, the replacements are so talented.
Richarlison, meanwhile, can be a star in his own right. He was so impressive in qualifying and with so many good players around him, he might be in with a shout of the Golden Boot.
