Tottenham Hotspur winger Heung-Min Son has been really impressed with new signing Richarlison during training.

The 25-year-old didn’t feature in Spurs’ opening day win over Southampton this weekend due to serving a one-match ban but Son has told Football.London that he will provide great competition for him this season.

Antonio Conte named his deadly attacking trio of Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski and Son on Saturday and his team put in a brilliant display as they thrashed the Saints 4-1.

And while Son and Kane didn’t get on the scoresheet, Kulusevski stole the show with a dazzling display and looks to have cemented his place in the starting eleven for the time being.

Richarlison will face a tough task in terms of forcing his way into Conte’s team next week, but Son thinks the Brazilian will certainly push Spurs’ front-three this season.

Speaking to Football.London, Son said: “It’s always good to have competition. When I train with Richy [Richarlison] in the whole pre-season he’s another unbelievable player.”

“I am really enjoying playing with him so the competition always makes you better.”

Son impressed with Richarlison

Richarlison completed his switch to Spurs from Everton last month in a deal worth up to £60 million (Sky Sports) and has clearly already left his mark on Son.

And while Conte already had a brilliant front-three in Son, Kane and Kulusesvki, the former Toffees man was brought in to add depth to the Italian’s frontline.

The Brazil international was arguably Everton’s best player last season and was one of the main reasons Frank Lampard’s men avoided relegation.

After watching Spurs’ electric font-three on Saturday, Richarlison will know that he faces serious competition for a starting role in North London.

But the striker will be more than up for the challenge and will be eager to get on the pitch to show Conte what he is capable of.

Spurs travel to West London this weekend as they face bitter rivals Chelsea. Richarlison will be available after serving his suspension and will be hoping to make his Premier League debut for Tottenham.
