TalkSPORT pundit Darren Bent has claimed that Arsenal star Thomas Partey was actually even better than Declan Rice last season.
The Gunners are welcoming everyone back to full fitness ahead of the business end of the campaign. Partey made his comeback against Sheffield United earlier this week, and that is a big boost for Arsenal now.

Darren Bent says Arsenal’s Thomas Partey was better than Declan Rice last season
Arsenal signed Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid back in 2020.
The Ghana international was viewed by many as the Gunners’ answer to all their problems in the middle of the park. He was an outstanding addition on paper, but injuries have been really cruel to him.
Partey has missed over 60 games for Arsenal since he joined the club. That is a real shame, but nobody can dispute the fact that he is one of the best in the world when he’s fully fit.
For large parts of last season, Partey was absolutely incredible. Darren Bent loved his performances and has now claimed that he was even better than Declan Rice.
After heaping praise on Rice, when Andy Goldstein asked if the midfielder had surprised him, Bent said on talkSPORT: “Yeah, he’s better than I thought!
“Last season if you had asked me who’s better – him or Partey – I would’ve said Partey. Partey, for three-quarters of the season, was unbelievable.”

Partey-Rice midfield could help Arsenal win the Premier League
Arsenal have had plenty of injury issues this season, but it looks like they are close to having everyone back now. Thomas Partey’s return, in particular, is massive for them.
The Ghana international is an incredible player. He has been outstanding for the Gunners when he has been fit, and he can make a real difference in the coming months.
A midfield pairing of Declan Rice and Partey is arguably the most solid partnership in the Premier League. It would be so difficult to get past them.
Mikel Arteta will be hoping he can pair them up regularly from now until the end of the season. If he can, Arsenal will have a great chance of winning the Premier League.
