Arsenal look set to welcome Thomas Partey back to action for their next Premier League fixture.

And according to Charles Watts, it’ll be a “huge, huge boost” for the Gunners to have a fully-fit Partey raring to go at a time when other teams’ fitness won’t be as high.

On Thursday, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said the Ghana international midfielder “should be part of the squad on Monday” against Sheffield United.

Partey has not turned out for the Gunners since 8 October following a thigh inujry, and has just five appearances for Arteta‘s side this term.

The 30-year-old was looking to be back in action at the start of February, but sadly suffered an issue “in a very similar area” which delayed his return.

Arsenal set for ‘hungry’ Thomas Partey to make comeback

Now, it looks as though Partey’s time has come, and Watts is buzzing over how much of a boost it is for his beloved Arsenal side at such a crucial time of the season.

The Gunners face Sheffield United and Brentford in the league next week, before hosting Porto in the Champions League last-16 second leg, a crucial game with Arsenal a goal down in the tie.

Then comes Manchester City away on 31 March, an absolutely huge game with regards to the Premier League title race.

“To have Thomas Partey available for those games,” Watts said on his YouTube channel.

“And a fully fit Thomas Partey and a hungry Thomas Partey, recharged, he should be absolutely bouncing off the walls.

“He’s not going to be tired, there’s not going to be any sort of fatigue with him, he’s barely played all season.

“So you’ve got him to suddenly throw into mix for the end of season, sprint finish, it’s going to be a huge huge boost for Arsenal.”

Arsenal get big boost at the perfect time

Arsenal have hit form at just the right time, and they’re now just two points off top spot in one of the most exciting title races in recent years.

With Partey set to return, it’ll give the Gunners a huge boost, and hopefully it’ll go on to make the difference in the league.

And then you have the Champions League, with Arsenal a goal down against Porto, so the Gunners will need to be at their absolute best to turn the tie around. Partey’s return will help with this.
