There’s no doubt that both Unai Emery and Aston Villa fans will be so deflated following the late defeat against Manchester United.
Whilst the visitors did play well at times, Emery’s side also proved their credentials to at least earn a point.

Perhaps Douglas Luiz could have even scored a winner quickly after getting his side level, the chances were there.
But as so many teams have oddly experienced this season, Scott McTominay ultimately popped up with a decisive goal.
Unai Emery will surely still be pleased with some individual performances, even if the likes of Boubacar Kamara disappointed on this occasion.
Villa have performed so admirably at home in the league this season, beating the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal, but the absence of their first choice defensive duo did prove costly.
Both Pau Torres and Ezri Konsa were missed.
And incidentally, it was a Villa defender that Unai Emery was seen screaming at during the first half against United today.
Unai Emery was desperate for Villa defender Alex Moreno to attack United’s back line
Pointed out by journalist Jacob Tanswell on X, Emery was going crazy on his touchline trying to deliver a message to Alex Moreno.
Emery spotted an opportunity for Villa to exploit United’s wing given Alejandro Garnacho was playing so offensively.

Tanswell explained: “Unai Emery is screaming at Alex Moreno to keep on running past Garnacho.
“Both he and Jacob Ramsey are getting a lot of space down the left.”
And in all honesty, it seems as if Emery was right on this occasion.
Man United were always going to be a threat going forwards, they’re attacking line is starting to click.
However, Villa should have definitely created more chances to score, and finished the ones they produced.
Lucas Digne did eventually replace £13m Moreno on the left, a move that will probably be permanent one once the Frenchman is fully fit.
And whilst it wasn’t quite Villa or Emery’s night this evening, they still have so much to play for this season.
That being said, it seems the club have now established a lofty transfer target for the summer, someone who may have helped today.
