Unai Emery gives verdict on Arsenal and Manchester City after Aston Villa beat them

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has given his verdict on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Villa beat both Arsenal and City in recent days.

So, what has Unai Emery said about Arsenal and Manchester City? Let’s take a look.

Unai Emery comments on Arsenal and Manchester City

Well, Aston Villa are on a high. The Villans beat Manchester City 1-0 at Villa Park on Wednesday evening, and on Saturday evening they got the better of Arsenal 1-0 at home.

City are arguably the best team in England. They won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season.

Arsenal almost won the Premier League title last season. Mikel Arteta’s side are one of the favourites to win it this time.

So, for Villa to beat both City and Arsenal in a matter of days is a huge feat. And, they are now third in the Premier League table. Some would say that they are in the title race.

Villa have picked up 35 points from 16 matches. The Villans are two points behind leaders Liverpool and a point behind Unai Emery’s former club Arsenal.

While Emery is overjoyed with his side’s results, the Villa manager has noted that City and Arsenal are the two best teams in the Premier League.

Emery told Villa’s official website: “I’ve never won so many matches like here and I don’t think I’ll win as many matches in a row again. It’s completely amazing and very difficult to repeat.

“We are doing it because we are only thinking about each match and only focusing on each moment.

“Today we finished this week playing the best two teams in the Premier League, Manchester City and Arsenal, and we won both matches. It’s fantastic.”

Aston Villa in the running for Premier League top four

In my view, Aston Villa are in the running for a top-four finish in the Premier League table this season.

I do not think that Villa will win the league title. Although they are doing well now, I have to note that they do not have as good and strong a squad as Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City do.

However, I believe that under Emery, Villa could finish above Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United in the league table and end up fourth.
