Troy Deeney claimed on Ben Foster’s YouTube channel that he thinks Liverpool will make a big, early bid to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in January.

The 19-year-old, branded as an ‘amazing’ player, is arguably the best midfielder of his age in the world at the moment. He is absolutely sensational, and it’s only a matter of time before he leaves Dortmund for a much bigger club.

Liverpool’s biggest issue since the start of the campaign, according to many people, is their midfield.

They have really struggled in the middle of the park, and that’s one of the reasons why they’ve won just twice in the Premier League all season.

Bellingham is a player who has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield for over a year now. It seems clear that he’s on Jurgen Klopp’s radar, and Deeney believes the Reds will make a big, early bid for the teenager in the January transfer window.

He said yesterday: “I think they’ll go again in January. I can see him (Klopp) getting Jude, you know? I can see him go big on Jude early, just before United or City.

“Someone’s going to go like £120 million on him early doors because if you wait till the summer or even if he has a really good World Cup, it could go to £150 million mate.

“I just think someone will go big early. City can wait till the summer, Real Madrid can wait, I think United or Liverpool will go big on him (in January).”

Bellingham really is the ideal player for Liverpool’s midfield – at least on paper.

The youngster can do everything. He’s excellent on the ball, can create chances and score goals. He works very hard for the team as well, which makes him the perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.

Dortmund will do everything they possibly can to keep hold of Bellingham at least until the end of this season. However, Liverpool have to do something to get their season back on track, and a huge signing in the January transfer window may well do the trick.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out in the coming months, but one thing’s certain, Bellingham will cost a lot of money.
