Tottenham Hotspur will keep a close eye on one England star as Gareth Southgate’s side face Belgium tonight.

James Maddison will be hoping to get a chance to impress for England this evening after he was an unused substitute in the defeat to Brazil over the weekend.

It will be the last opportunity for the Tottenham star to prove he’s deserving of a starting role ahead of the Euros.

Spurs will undoubtedly be keeping a keen eye on Maddison and hope the midfielder comes through without any fresh injury concerns.

But as well as Maddison, Spurs are also very interested in how Ivan Toney performs for England on Tuesday evening.

Tottenham to watch Toney for England

SportsLens claims that Toney could get an opportunity to impress for England tonight, with former Spurs star Harry Kane sidelined.

It’s noted that Premier League scouts will be watching Toney in action at Wembley on Tuesday night.

Arsenal and Chelsea remain keen, despite both sides ‘wavering’ over their intent to sign the striker.

As for Tottenham, it’s claimed that Ange Postecoglou’s men could yet enter the race to land the 28-year-old.

Indeed, both Manchester United and Spurs are interested to see how he performs for England this evening.

Tottenham are yet to be ruled out of the race to land Toney this summer, despite strong interest from their north London rivals Arsenal.

It’s no secret that Spurs have not replaced Kane with an out-and-out striker, with Heung-min Son currently excelling in the position.

Toney’s contract at Brentford

The Bees striker is all but set to leave this summer and has been vocal about his desire for a fresh challenge.

Toney will have just a year left on his contract come the end of the season and it would make sense for Brentford to cash in this summer.

Thomas Frank’s side are reportedly set to demand a fee worth around £60 million, which will undoubtedly intrigue plenty of top clubs in the Premier League.
