Ivan Toney looks like he’ll be leaving Brentford this summer.
The striker is about to enter the final year of his contract with the Bees, and it’s fair to say that he’s a wanted man.
Arsenal, for a long time, had been touted as Toney’s main admirers, but that trail appears to have gone cold for one reason or another.
So, where could the £60m man end up? Well, speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has talked up Spurs as a potential destination.
Indeed, Gold says that you can’t rule out Tottenham coming in for Toney this summer as he enters the final year of his deal.

Tottenham could go for Ivan Toney
Gold spoke about the striker.
“I’m not sure where Ivan Toney’s going to go. The big odds were on him to go to Arsenal, but that doesn’t seem to be as strong a link anymore at all. I wonder if in classic Spurs style they look at a player with a year left on his contract. In that system, he would get so many goals. I wouldn’t rule that out entirely, he would be a fantastic addition,” Gold said.
Very Spurs
As Gold says, this would be a very Daniel Levy-type signing.
A top player with a year left on their deal while other clubs seem to be backing away is right in Levy’s wheelhouse, and we wouldn’t be shocked at all if Tottenham went and got this one done.
With just 12 months left on his deal, Toney could be available at a very decent price, and after selling Harry Kane last summer, Tottenham certainly need a new starting striker who can score 20 or more goals a season.
This is certainly one to keep an eye on heading into the summer.
