Tottenham Hotspur star Lucas Moura has shed light on a private conversation he has had with Chelsea midfielder Jorginho about their future.
The Brazilian joined Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain for £23 million in January 2018 (BBC). A lot was expected of Lucas then, but it has to be said that his numbers aren’t quite as high as Tottenham fans had hoped they would be when they signed him.
The 29-year-old has played over 200 times for Spurs in all competitions over the last four-and-a-half years and has directly been involved in 65 goals – 38 goals and 27 assists.
With Dejan Kulusevski and now Richarlison in the squad, Lucas’ chances of regular game time have taken a hit, which is probably why there’s so much talk about his future.
Lucas Moura says he and Jorginho have made a plan to join the same club ‘soon’
Over the last few weeks, there has been a lot of talk about Lucas returning to Sao Paulo, his boyhood club.
Although a move isn’t expected to happen this summer, the Brazilian has admitted himself that he would like to go back there one day.
Now, Lucas has revealed that a Chelsea player could join him when he decides to leave Tottenham and return to Sao Paulo.
Lucas said, as per ESPN Brazil: “There was a statement from Jorginho, from Chelsea, saying he was São Paulino, it seems.
“I sent him a private message and said: ‘Let’s go there soon.’ Then he said: ‘When you go, call me’. I said: ‘I’ll remember that.”

TBR View:
Lucas is 29 and has one year left on his contract. Like his compatriots David Luiz and Willian, it looks likely that his next move will be a return to his home country.
Jorginho is a few months older than Lucas, but he too has just a year left on his Chelsea deal. The Italian could well leave Stamford Bridge at the end of next season, and he will not be short of offers.
If Jorginho’s promise to Lucas is a genuine one, both players could well be on their way to Brazil for a spell at one of the country’s greatest football clubs – Sao Paulo FC.
For now though, the focus is on the new Premier League campaign, and both Jorginho and Lucas are busy at work at their respective clubs’ pre-season tours.
