Tottenham Hotspur star Dejan Kulusevski has heaped praise on AS Roma new boy Paulo Dybala ahead of their game in Israel later today.

The 28-year-old Argentine has been a superstar in the Serie A for a long time now. He was absolutely incredible for Juventus during his seven years there, but his time at Turin came to an end this summer.

Dybala decided against renewing his contract at Juventus and decided to leave. He was linked with a whole host of clubs across Europe, including Tottenham, who have admired him for a few years now.

Fabio Paratici, who knows Dybala really well, wanted to bring him to Spurs, but reports revealed two months ago that the Argentine had ruled out a move to Tottenham.

Tottenham take on AS Roma later today and both Kulusevski and Dybala are expected to play a part. The two forwards know each other really well, and the Spurs winger had nothing but good things to say about the Argentine.

Speaking to Tottenham’s official website, Kulusevski said: “Roma are a very good team, for sure. I know that they are always hard to play against, they have a lot of good players, all hungry to win.

“I know they play with five at the back, so it’s going to be a hard game, physical and now with their new signing, Paulo (Dybala), he will take them to new heights, I think. Paulo at Roma will be very good for both parties.

“Roma have a fantastic player and I think he’s going to love it there. It will be interesting to play against them and to see how they do next season.”

Dybala really is a fantastic player, and this isn’t the first time Tottenham have missed out on signing him.

Back in the summer of 2019, Spurs tried extremely hard to sign the Argentine. Mauricio Pochettino was a big fan, but that deal reportedly collapsed in the end because of his wage demands.

It would’ve been interesting to see how Dybala would’ve fared at Tottenham alongside the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and the 28-year-old’s good pal Kulusevski.

That will not happen now, but the Argentine could well show what Spurs have missed out on with a fine performance later today.
