Report: Tottenham have now made a loan offer for 'fantastic' Premier League player
Tottenham Hotspur have put an offer on the table for Chelsea defender, Trevoh Chalobah, although it remains to be seen if he’ll move on before the deadline.
According to The Evening Standard, Chalobah has a loan offer on the table from Tottenham, while the likes of AC and Inter Milan, RB Leipzig, and Roma are all thought to have shown an interest in the young Chelsea star.
Chalobah has dropped down the pecking order a bit under Thomas Tuchel, despite the lack of defenders on the books at the Bridge and the fact he looked impressive last season. Dubbed a ‘fantastic‘ talent by Tuchel, Spurs’ interest in Chalobah first emerged last week.
The Evening Standard reports how Tottenham have put down a loan offer on the table for Chalobah, should he wish to make the move across London. However, it’s claimed that Chalobah will only be leaving Stamford Bridge should the Blues actually sign a new defender. As is widely known, Wesley Fofana is their number one choice.
Chalobah, 23, will be keen to find first-team football if Fofana does indeed sign. Spurs will intrigue him, although the success of former teammates Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori over in Italy might also persuade him.
TBR’s View: Chalobah To Tottenham Would Be Big
It would be quite the story really to see Chelsea let one of their best up and coming players move to a rival Premier League club like Tottenham.
Chalobah looked for all the world like he’d be a Chelsea regular this season but for whatever reason, Thomas Tuchel seems to have other ideas. With that, a move away is looking all the more likely.
For Tottenham, signing Chalobah would be a good move. They do need another defender if they can get one and at 23, there is lots to like for Spurs when it comes to Chalobah.
