Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to pay big money to land Jordan Pickford from Everton, with The Sun claiming a £200k-a-week deal is being considered.
Tottenham are searching for a replacement for Hugo Lloris and Pickford is a name that’s been mentioned on more than one occasion. Indeed, it was only this weekend that fresh reports started to link Pickford with a move to Spurs once again.
Pickford has yet to sign a new deal with Everton. With that, other clubs are on alert, with Manchester United also thought to be considering moving for the England stopper.

The Sun is reporting today that both United and Tottenham are prepared to pay Pickford a whopping £200k-a-week in wages. That would double his current Everton salary, with the Toffees not willing to go as high as that to keep their number one.
For Tottenham, Pickford would represent the ideal signing. A long-term Lloris replacement has become a priority for the club.
Pickford’s stock has risen over the last few years after a few excellent tournaments with England. Despite a number of errors in his early days as Everton’s number one, he’s grown into one of the PL’s very best.
TBR’s View: Pickford perfect for Tottenham
This would be the perfect signing for Spurs in a problem position right now. Lloris is past his best and he seems to be making howlers almost weekly.
Pickford is one of the best the league has. Yes, £200k-a-week is a lot of money but a good goalkeeper can be the most important player in the XI. In the end, it might be money worth paying out for Spurs.
The next two windows feel massive for Tottenham. If they can land Pickford – who Eric Dier lauded as ‘incredible‘ – then that’s a solid way to convince fans that things are moving forward.
