Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly warming to the idea of signing Timo Werner permanently this summer.

Spurs signed the Germany international on loan from RB Leipzig in January, and he’s been faring quite well at N17 thus far.

Werner has scored twice and provided two assists in his seven Premier League appearances so far under Ange Postecoglou.

GiveMeSport has now reported that Tottenham are now ‘likely to take advantage of the option’ to turn Werner’s loan into a permanent agreement.

The outlet noted that, when negotiating with Leipzig, Spurs agreed a £15million option to sign the 28-year-old permanently.

Werner has done well so far and it looks as though there’s much more to come from him at Tottenham.

Timo Werner a solid squad option for Tottenham going forward

Tottenham are currently doing very well in the Premier League and will fancy their chances of sealing a top-four spot.

Spurs and Villa are currently vying for that fourth place in the table, and the north Londoners ran out 4-0 winners over the Villans just last week.

Should Tottenham get into the Champions League, they’ll certainly need more strength in depth.

After all, they got stung by a big injury crisis earlier this season, and they’ll want to avoid that sort of thing again, particularly with the prospect of fighting on four fronts.

Werner is certainly a good shout to bolster Tottenham’s ranks beyond the end of the season.

He is an “outstanding” talent with plenty of quality and experience and, for just £15million, he’d be a bargain which would enable Spurs to bring in other forwards too.

Werner’s first Premier League adventure, at Chelsea, didn’t quite to go to plan. Now he has a second chance, he’ll be determined to make the most of it, which is obviously great news for Tottenham.
