Tottenham now have a trump card in race for 28-year-old World Cup finalist
Tottenham are reportedly looking to sign Inter star Marcelo Brozovic – and a new update could mean Harry Winks helps Spurs get the Croatian star.
Brozovic, 28, is in the final 12 months of his current deal with the Nerrazzuri. A loyal custodian to Inter, he has played 251 times for his club.
Obviously, Spurs would be trailing both PSG and United – given the size of the clubs but also, both are currently competing in the Champions League.
However, Tottenham might just have been handed a trump card in the race to sign Brozovic – in the form of England star Winks this summer.
That is because, a report from CalcioMercato claims that Tottenham star Winks is attracting interest from Inter Milan and Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
Could Tottenham strike Brozovic deal with the help of Winks?
Although Winks is a homegrown talent and one that Spurs fans can relate too, he does need a move. Even Oliver Skipp has overtaken him at Spurs.
He needs a team where he will consistently get game time and with Brozovic likely to go, he would get that under Simone Inzaghi at Inter.
Winks needs to go as early as possible – given he has started just one of Tottenham’s seven Premier League games. January would be ideal.
Of course, that depth would need replacing at Spurs. So surely, a deal that would see Inter and Spurs strike a swap deal makes complete sense?
Brozovic is older and out of contract, so Fabio Paratici might actually get some cash as well as Brozovic. Times say Winks is rated at £40million.
