Tottenham Hotspur are ‘creeping’ into the conversation when it comes to Moroccan attacking midfielder, Azzedine Ounahi, according to Ben Jacobs.
Journalist Jacobs has been speaking on the Last Word on Spurs podcast this evening and revealed a number of snippets of information regarding transfer targets.
A number of names were mentioned by Jacobs, but the big one to be dropped in from nowhere was that of Ounahi.

Ounahi is said to be the subject of a bid from Leeds United. The Whites have reportedly bid £22m for the Moroccan star, and it remains to be seen if that bid will be successful. Indeed, Ounahi himself is thought to favour a move to Napoli if he can get it.
“Ounahi would make a lot of sense from Tottenham’s perspective. It’s actually Leicester, Leeds and Napoli who have seriously explored it. But Tottenham are creeping into the conversation but they’ll need to move quickly. Angers will have to sell this window,” Jacobs said.
“But it will come down to who the player wants to join.”
Jacobs also went on to explain how Ounahi is weighing his options up, while clubs keen on him will be basing his signing on more than just the World Cup.
Ounahi was one of the stars of the show in the World Cup. His performances in the middle of the park helped the African nation to the semi-finals, before they were beaten by France.
Tottenham are known to be keen on landing a few new players this January. A midfielder who can get goals is said to be among them, meaning interest in Ounahi – who Angers had valued around £40m – is less than surprising here.
TBR’s View: Ounahi would be a joy for Tottenham fans
Ounahi was so good over in the World Cup. The big question now is if he can actually do it consistently for a top team like Tottenham.
We’ve seen it so many times when a player has a good tournament but then can’t quite follow it up. That’s the challenge for Ounahi, especially if he is to join a team like Tottenham.
Ounahi is talented enough. He showed that in Qatar. The big ask in the PL is the intensity and the relentlessness of the league that is hard. Should he sign, this would be Ounahi’s biggest obstacle to overcome.
