Leeds United are trying to sign Moroccan World Cup star Azzedine Ounahi and have lodged a bid in the region of £22m for the midfielder.
The Sun – citing reports from L’Equipe -reports how Leeds’ £22m bid is the highest of all the interested clubs in Ounahi. The Whites are desperately trying to strengthen the ranks in January, with Jesse Marsch keen to avoid any sort of relegation battle again.
Leeds’ bid is said to be some £9m more than the £13m offered by the likes of Napoli. The Italian giants are keen on Ounahi themselves and see him as a player who can help them lift he title.

However, while Leeds might be putting up the money, there is an issue due to Napoli’s interest. The Sun reports how Ounahi is unsure on a move to Leeds and that, if given the choice, he would pick a move to Naples.
Dubbed ‘incredible’ by Jose Mourinho, Ounahi was one of the stars of the show over in Qatar. His excellent performances helped Morocco to the semi-finals, where they were eventually beaten by France.
Leeds are also looking to sign Georgino Hutter from Hoffenheim this month.
TBR’s View: Ounahi can light up Elland Road, but he has to want to come
We all saw how good Ounahi was in the World Cup. A lot of teams would like to add him to their squads. So it’s little surprise to see Leeds interested here.
However, if he has his heart set on Napoli, then you have to question the logic in keeping on pushing for the move.
Leeds need players who are all in. The fans will see right through it if someone isn’t committed, and that’s the last thing Jesse Marsch wants.
So, for all Ounahi’s talents and how he’d be a good fit for Leeds ability wise, he needs to want to join, and not take Elland Road as a second option.
