Tottenham may make last minute move to sign 'special' 22-year-old attacker in January now – journalist

Tottenham Hotspur have now recorded back-to-back wins and clean sheets to get their season back on track.

Portsmouth provided a stubborn test at the weekend, but Spurs cruised past them with relative ease.

Dean Jones, via Give Me Sport, has now provided an update on a potential Tottenham target ahead of their next match.

It’s a huge clash that Antonio Conte has to prepare his side for, with rivals Arsenal the next visitors to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs fans would love nothing more than to derail their unlikely title challenge.

Conte will be hoping that the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur are available to feature.

The Italian has been forced to throw Bryan Gil into the action in attack, with Richarlison also unavailable.

It’s a position that Conte wants to further strengthen, and Jones has provided an update on a potential target.

He believes Tottenham could make a late move for Brazilian forward Tete in January.

The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Lyon from Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, the Ukrainian side could be tempted to sell the young forward if the right bid came in.

Tottenham could make late move for Tete

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones said: “Tete could be an option towards the back end of the window, he might offer some value,”

“But the toughest thing to consider is, are any of those players actually up to the level to make up for the absence of Dejan Kulusevski?

“It’s really hard to guarantee that.”

Described as a ‘special player’ by Lyon coach Peter Bosz, Tete typically plays on the right-wing.

He’s already scored six league goals and provided three assists in Ligue 1, and can play in a more central role.

A report from the Daily Mail suggested Tete could be worth up to £25m.

The Brazilian is certainly the ready-made replacement Conte is looking for in attack.

His Champions League experience over the past few seasons shows he can compete against the very best.

Tottenham considering a late move for Tete suggests they’re potentially looking at other targets first.

However, a new attacker is very much at the top of Conte’s list of priorities over the next few weeks.
