Lyon on-loan star Tete is apparently one of the attackers on Fabio Paratici’s radar.

The 22-year-old is technically still under contract with Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, FIFA suspended the contracts of all foreign players in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s invasion.

This arrangement was extended into the 2022-23 campaign, allowing Tete to continue his career at Lyon.

The winger has netted six goals and laid on three assists in 14 Ligue 1 games this season.

However, the French outfit is now reportedly looking to let Tete leave.

Lyon appointed Laurent Blanc as manager in October after parting company with Peter Bosz.

Tete has found starts harder to come by under Blanc, who is reportedly looking to take his team in a different direction.

With that in mind, Tete could now be available. And Tottenham are one of the clubs reportedly circling.

Back in April, the Daily Mail claimed that Tete is worth £25million.

In October, scouting website Breaking the Lines described Tete as a ‘phenom’.

They wrote: ‘Tete is a left-footed player who likes to operate on the right-hand side.

‘His main role is as an inverted winger, so he would like to cut inside onto his stronger foot and attack the opposition.

‘He has been known to be comfortable playing across the attacking midfield line.

‘However, the right-hand side is where he is enjoying his time the most at present.’

In October 2020, Tete delivered a masterclass for Shakhtar in a 3-2 Champions League group win over Real Madrid.

BBC Sport lauded his efforts ahead of the return match in December, with the Ukrainians also won.

“A stunning goal, an assist and a devastating individual display helped the Ukrainians tear apart Real Madrid in a sensational Champions League first-half performance in October as they raced into a 3-0 lead,” they wrote.

BBC Sport also commented on Tete’s style of play being “somewhat reminiscent of former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben, because he loves cutting inside to his stronger left foot.”
