Report: Tottenham 'moving under the radar' to sign 'world-class' player right from under Arsenal's noses

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be ‘moving under the radar’ to sign Arsenal target Gabriel Jesus, according to Italian outlet, Gianluca di Marzio.

The Brazilian striker is a target for both Spurs and Arsenal this summer. However, so far anyway, it’s seemed like Arsenal have the upper-hand. Indeed, it was only this weekend that reports claimed Jesus was actually trying to convince Pep Guardiola to let him join Arsenal.

However, Di Marzio has reported today that while the Gunners are firmly in the hunt for Jesus, Tottenham are actually trying to sneak up and do a deal themselves.

Di Marzio reports how Spurs are ‘trying’ to do a deal for Jesus, albeit with an appreciation that the transfer could be difficult for them to get over the line. The City forward is being tipped for pastures new this summer after Pep Guardiola moved to sign Erling Haaland.

With Jesus already not the main choice striker under Guardiola, Haaland’s arrival only nudges him further down the pecking order in Manchester. City are thought to be looking for around £50m for Jesus, although there is said to be some wiggle room on that.

TBR’s View: Tottenham Landing Jesus Would Send Shockwaves

Can you just imagine this? Tottenham move in and sign the one attacker Arsenal and their fans have been confident about landing all summer long. It would send shockwaves through north London and wouldn’t half add to an already bitter rivalry.

In terms of Jesus himself, he has a tough call to make really. At Arsenal, he’ll be the main man and should, in theory, play as a number nine every week. However, with Spurs, the lure of Conte and Champions League football is also there.

If Tottenham can somehow pull this off, then Fabio Paratici deserves a medal.
