Report: Gabriel Jesus is personally convincing Pep Guardiola to let him sign for Arsenal now
According to Goal Brazil, Gabriel Jesus is now ready to sign for Arsenal and is personally convincing Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to let him join the North London club.
The Gunners are in desperate need of a new striker this summer. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was forced out in February, while Alexandre Lacazette rejoined Lyon on a free transfer earlier this month.
Arsenal announced today that Eddie Nketiah has signed a new contract at the club. The Englishman was excellent towards the end of last season, but he still needs a few years before he can become the Gunners’ main man.
Mikel Arteta and Edu have been on the lookout for a prolific goalscorer as a result, and Jesus has been their top target for a while now.

The report claims that among all the clubs reported to have been interested in Jesus, Arsenal are the only side to submit an offer to Manchester City.
Edu has reportedly tabled a £43 million bid to sign Jesus this summer, and the Premier League champions are thinking about how they’ll respond.
It has been claimed that Jesus has already given a positive signal about joining Arsenal and playing under Arteta, who the report says is the reason behind the Gunners’ push to sign him.
The report further reveals that Jesus is trying to get Guardiola to accept Arsenal’s latest offer. He wants to join the Gunners this summer, and it’s now City’s call whether to oblige their striker’s request or not.
It is no secret at this point that Jesus is Arsenal’s top striker target in this window.
The Brazilian is desperate for regular game time ahead of the World Cup later this year, and following Erling Haaland’s arrival at Manchester City, there’s no way he’ll be the main man at the Etihad next season.
To add to that, Jesus will soon enter the final year of his contract, and this window is City’s last chance to get good money off his sale.
It really does look like Arsenal are making good progress in this deal, and barring any hiccups in the next few weeks, we can expect to see Jesus leading the Gunners’ line next season.
