Tottenham have shown interest in Wolves star Max Kilman - journalist

Journalist Ben Jacobs has suggested to The Last Word On Spurs podcast that Tottenham Hotspur have previously shown interest in Max Kilman as Antonio Conte’s side consider targeting another centre-back in this window.

Spurs have obviously been one of the busiest sides in the transfer market this summer. They have welcomed six signings, including Clement Lenglet.

Lenglet was a player few were talking about ahead of the window. But it is hard to have a problem with a loan deal for the Frenchman. However, it is not necessarily a long-term answer to the problem.

Reports claimed that they ideally want Alessandro Bastoni and Josko Gvardiol. But, with Fabio Paratici at the helm, it is no surprise that so many other names have been linked along the way.

And Jacobs has thrown another name into the mix. The journalist made it clear that there has been no move so far. But he did suggest that one Wolves star has admirers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“Tottenham have also by the way scouted Max Kilman historically, which is more of a domestic option,” he told The Last Word On Spurs podcast.

“They’ve not made any kind of move over the course of this summer. Interesting again, to see whether that changes. I don’t think that Wolves would like to sell.”

Tottenham have shown interest in Max Kilman

Kilman joined Wolves in 2018. But it has only been in the last couple of years where the 25-year-old has really proven himself as a Premier League-quality defender.

He is excellent on the ball. And clearly, few forwards get the better of the defender in duels.

Conor Coady has previously labelled Kilman ‘outstanding‘. And given that he has only moved out of the non-league game in the last few years, there is no reason why he cannot improve significantly in the coming seasons.

Wolves are in a strong position. His contract at Molineux expires in 2026. And obviously, Jacobs does not believe that Tottenham have made a move so far.

But perhaps his comments highlight that he is one name for Spurs fans to keep an eye on.
