Tottenham have scouted £17m defender loads now, Paratici knows him so well - Romano
He said that Spurs have watched the defender plenty of times and he is a player that Fabio Paratici has known well for a number of years.
But his former club Manchester City hold a 20 million euro (£17 million) buy back clause which could complicate the situation.
Romano on Porro
Romano told Caught Offside: “Links are normal as Tottenham have sent their scouts many times to follow Porro.
“He’s a player who Fabio Paratici knows very well since long time.
“At the moment there are still no direct talks, so not an easy one – also because Manchester City have €20m buy back clause and so they can control the situation.”
It has been reported elsewhere this week that Spurs have concerns about Porro physically and his ability to cope with the demands of the Premier League.
Conte signed Djed Spence in the summer but is yet to give him a start, and his two predecessors signed right wing-backs too to try and solve the position.
Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal battle it out for games there right now but it is clear that is a position that Spurs need to strengthen.
