Tottenham fans want Spaniard signed amid reports they could get him in player-plus-cash deal

Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham Hotspur could be about to receive an offer from Manchester City for Harry Kane. That includes Spain international Aymeric Laporte. The ex-Bilbao man has been linked with Spurs throughout the summer. Now, Tottenham fans are open to a deal that involves Laporte.

Kane, 28, remains a target for Manchester City – despite Pep Guardiola’s side bringing in Jack Grealish for a record £100million. But as it always has been this summer – Daniel Levy will only sell for Kane for his asking price of around £150million.

Italian journalist Romano says two Manchester City players could part of a deal with Tottenham – in the form of Laporte and Gabriel Jesus. A report from The Athletic earlier in the window said Tottenham could pick one of Laporte, Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva.

Romano has now given an update, stating that Laporte and Jesus could be offered to Tottenham again – with Spurs previously rejecting the duo: “Manchester City are pushing, with a player. It is up to Tottenham. Keep an eye on Gabriel Jesus. If they do the Kane deal, Jesus could be in a deal.

“Jesus could be include in a deal, given he is a striker. Laporte could also, but Tottenham have rejected the inclusion of players in the past. Let’s see what happens in the next few days,” Romano added, in Tuesday’s episode of his Here We Go podcast.

Tottenham fans have reacted to Romano and his claim that Laporte remains a possibility in the deal for Kane. Many believe that the signing of left-footed defender Laporte – a £57million arrival from Bilbao (Sky Sports) – is something worth considering if Kane does end up going.
