Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Emile Smith Rowe comments

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments from Emile Smith Rowe in which he claimed that he turned down the chance to leave Arsenal for their biggest rivals.

Smith Rowe has been a shining light for Arsenal over the last 12 months. And his performances this term have earned the 21-year-old the chance to join up with the England senior squad for the first time.

He has scored four times for Mikel Arteta’s side, with the latest coming on Sunday as the Gunners beat Watford at the Emirates.

Of course, probably his most significant goal came in the North London derby as Arsenal blew Spurs away.

Had events played out differently however, Smith Rowe could have actually been in the visitors’ squad that day.

The youngster has now claimed – in comments reported by The Telegraph – that he turned down the chance to join Spurs when he was 16.

Unsurprisingly, plenty of Tottenham fans have insisted that they are not bothered about Smith Rowe rejecting the club a few years ago.

Some have claimed that the starlet would not get into their side. And they seem to have doubts about his potential.

Others however, have suggested that they can understand the decision. He is an Arsenal supporter, so it would have always taken a lot to convince him to move off their books.
