Tottenham fans react as Manchester City reportedly bid to sign Jack Grealish
Manchester City have reportedly bid for Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish, with an offer believed to be in the region of £100million. Pep Guardiola’s side are being strongly linked with both Grealish and Harry Kane. Tottenham fans have reacted to City’s bid for Grealish, and are optimistic.
Grealish, 25, starred for Villa last season – taking his game to a whole new level. In 26 Premier League appearances for the Midlands club, Grealish scored six goals and laid on another 12 assists. It has seen Manchester City linked with the Villa skipper for the entirety of the summer window.
Now, The Telegraph claim that Villa have received an offer from Manchester City to sign Grealish. It is said that a fee of £100million has been placed on the table for the Villa skipper – as City look to strengthen their squad ahead of retaining the Premier League title. Kane is also a target.
What are Tottenham fans saying about Manchester City bidding for Grealish?
With Manchester City spending £100million, or at least looking to splash the cash on Grealish – what does that mean for their pursuit of Kane? Well, firstly, Manchester City are unlikely to splash £100million on one player – and then £160million on another – following the recent pandemic.
Financial Fairplay rules could also come into play – but details of that are unknown. Tottenham fans, though, think that Manchester City breaking the English transfer record to get Grealish means City are out of the running to get Kane this summer.
