'I'm so jealous': Some Tottenham fans frustrated as Premier League club reportedly close to 'unreal' £18m deal
Leicester City are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard. The talented Frenchman has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League and now, it looks as if Brendan Rodgers will raid his old club. Tottenham fans are frustrated on Twitter at the news.
Edouard, 22, has still scored an impressive 22 goals in 40 games during the 2020-21 campaign – but the Frenchman was far from his best. The season before, France Under-21 skipper Edouard scored a whopping 28 goals but also laid on 19 assists for Celtic. That creativity was missing last term.
Sky Sports News reported on Monday evening that Rodgers is close to raiding his old side Celtic for Edouard. Given that the former PSG striker has entered the final 12 months of his contract, it is believed a cut-price fee could be arranged. The report says the Foxes could get him for £18million.
What are Tottenham fans saying about Leicester closing in on Edouard?
Tottenham, meanwhile, could do with a striker. England skipper Harry Kane continues to be linked with the exit door. Even if Kane stays at Spurs, the chances are that Daniel Levy will need to sign another striker. Carlos Vinicius remains on loan, but is unlikely to stay permanently.
Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that Edouard is close to joining Leicester and Rodgers – a manager in which has been linked with Spurs. Many are seemingly frustrated on Twitter as they believe that Edouard would have been a good addition at Spurs.
