Tottenham fans react as club steal march on West Ham in chase for Nikola Milenkovic

A report from Sky Sports on Friday evening claims Tottenham Hotspur are now leading the charge to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic. The Serbian colossus had been expected to join West Ham this summer. But Tottenham are now in talks for Milenkovic. and fans have reacted.

The 23-year-old, who stands at a lofty 6ft 5in, has been excellent over the last four years since joining Fiorentina in the summer of 2017. Becoming a mainstay early on, he has since played 133 times for La Viola. But Milenkovic is now out of contract in June 2022 – and clubs are interested.

A report from Viola News says Milenkovic’s agent has flown to Milan in a bid to thrash out a move to West Ham. But Sky Sports have reported an update, claiming talks between his agent and West Ham have broken down. Tottenham are taking advantage, and are in talks to land Milenkovic.

Wolves are also said to have made an enquiry but despite his contract situation – the Midlands side fear Milenkovic will prove ‘too costly’. Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the report regarding Milenkovic, and many are hoping Fabio Paratici can get Milenkovic.

One fan reckon he is better than Pau Torres, who has also been linked with Spurs in recent hours. Certainly, Milenkovic would cost a lot less than the £55m-rated Spaniard – with TMW rating him at £22million.
