Tottenham fans react as club reportedly offered chance to sign Chelsea star
Rivalry between Tottenham and Chelsea could be about to temporarily subside in order to strike a deal for striker Tammy Abraham. The Blues forward has been reportedly offered to Spurs – though it is unclear if Spurs want him. Tottenham fans do, urging their club to sign Abraham.
Abraham, 23, has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea. While the six-time England international did score 12 goals in 32 games last season, he is fourth-choice in the pecking order behind Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Olivier Giroud. The latter is about to depart for AC Milan, though.
However, Chelsea are actively looking for a new striker and are said to have made a bid to sign Erling Haaland – a player-plus-cash deal which had the option of including Abraham. Now, a report from The Telegraph says Tottenham have been offered Abraham, with Arsenal keen.
What are Tottenham fans saying about Chelsea star Abraham?
Tottenham need a striker this summer. They have waved goodbye to Carlos Vinicius, who has returned to parent club Benfica. The Brazilian did not hit the heights many Spurs fans had hoped for – and was certainly not worth his £40million permanent clause. But Spurs now need a replacement.
Abraham would be ideal, surely? Whether Harry Kane stays or goes, signing Abraham would be a step in the right direction. Good cover and competition for Kane, even if he plays up front with Kane. If Kane goes, he is capable of filling in. Tottenham fans agree – they want Abraham signed.
