Tottenham fans react as club reportedly in talks to sign 6ft 5in defender this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to raid Gennaro Gattuso’s Fiorentina and sign defender Nikola Milenkovic. The 6ft 5in colossus is out of contract in June 2022. Now, reports claim Tottenham are in talks to land the centre-back, and Spurs fans have discussed Milenkovic on Twitter.

Milenkovic, 23, has already clocked up 133 appearances for Fiorentina in the four seasons he has spent at La Viola. That is, despite joining the club as a teenager in 2017. He has quickly established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet – and stayed there. But his contract is running out.

A report from TuttoMercatoWeb says Tottenham are in talks to sign Milenkovic this summer. That is, if a deal to get Argentina international and Copa America winner Cristian Romero falls through. It is widely expected that Romero will sign a permanent Atalanta deal – and then join Spurs.

But Fabio Paratici is reportedly known for speaking to numerous players at the same time – in order to just move for another when one falls through. Romero talks are on going, but so are negotations for Serbia international Milenkovic. Fabrizio Romano says he is rated at just £12.75million.

Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to reports that Spurs are in talks to land Milenkovic. Many believe he would be a good signing for the North London club, while others want him and Romero. One fans reckons he is better than Sevilla and France ace Jules Kounde.
