Ethan Horvath is not a name many Tottenham Hotspur fans will know or have heard about. But he could be their first signing of the summer with the Club Brugge goalkeeper set to become free agent this month. Reports claim Tottenham are interested in Horvath – and fans have reacted on Twitter.

Horvath, 26, is currently playing back-up to Simon Mignolet with Belgian title winners Club Brugge. He only played four times last season, but helped his side win the Belgian Pro League – his third title with the club. In his four years at Brugge, he has played 64 times – keeping 21 clean sheets.

But now, it appears that it is time for a change. Horvath is in the final couple of weeks of his Brugge contract and will leave when it expires. His heroics in extra time for America recently will certainly have caught attention to his contract situation. Tottenham are being linked.

In what was the first CONCACAF Nations League final, the game between USA and Mexico went into extra-time with the score at 2-2. Christian Pulisic put USA 3-2 up with a penalty, before Andres Guardado had the chance to make it 3-3 in the 124th minute. But sub Horvath saved the penalty.

What are Tottenham fans saying about Horvath?

A heroic moment for Horvath and undoubtedly, one of the best moments of his career. Voetbal24 now report that Spurs are interested with Paulo Gazzaniga leaving the club – and Hugo Lloris’ future in doubt. Many Spurs fans reacted to the reports, and on a free, they think he is a sensible buy.
