Carter-Vickers, 23, has only ever played four times for Tottenham at senior level – instead, going out on loan six times. He has played for Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Ipswich, Luton, Swansea and Stoke City. Having returned from Bournemouth, he has a year left on his Tottenham contract.
The Daily Record say that Celtic are in talks to sign USA international Carter-Vickers. The report claims that Tottenham want £5million for the powerhouse centre-back. It is claimed that Carter-Vickers is keen on a move to Celtic – but that both Newcastle and Bournemouth are also interested.
What are Tottenham fans saying about Celtic wanting Carter-Vickers?
Celtic desperately need centre-backs this summer with Shane Duffy returning to Brighton after a loan. Kris Ajer could join Norwich City or another European side. So additions at centre-back are crucial and Carter-Vickers might not be the only signing. At £5million, he is affordable.
Tottenham fans have reacted to the reports on Twitter that the North London club could rake in £5million for his signature. Many are delighted that Spurs could even get a fee for the American colossus. One fan tweeted “sell him yesterday”, while another says “take the money and run”.
