Tottenham Hotspur have been strongly linked with a move for Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu this summer. But now, it appears that Spurs could miss out – to Arsenal. Arsenal are reportedly in talks to sign the Japan international ahead of Tottenham, and Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter.

Tomiyasu, 22, is a target for Tottenham – and now Arsenal – after starring in Italian football of late. Clocking up 33 appearances last season, the defender showed versatility as a right-back or a centre-back. Fabio Paratici has been keen on landing the defender this summer.

What have Tottenham fans said as Arsenal enter talks for Tomiyasu?

Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport claim – as per The Express – that Arsenal have entered talks to sign £20million-rated Tomiyasu. It is a strange one, given previous reports claim that Tottenham were close to a deal for the Japanese defender. But now, Tomiyasu might join Tottenham’s rivals.

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the latest reports that Arsenal have opened negotiations with Tomiyasu and his agents. Many are frustrated that Tomiyasu could end up joining Mikel Arteta’s side – especially when Spurs do desperately need defensive additions.
