Tottenham fans discuss Pierluigi Gollini ‘concern’ reports on Twitter

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports claiming that some at the club have concerns about the fitness of Pierluigi Gollini.

Gollini, of course, is on loan from Atalanta. The move appeared to be quite the coup for Spurs, with the 26-year-old enjoying an impressive stint as number one for the Serie A side.

However, he is yet to feature in the Premier League. And recent reports have suggested that Hugo Lloris is looking increasingly likely to sign a new contract beyond this season.

The Athletic reported that Tottenham have the option to make Gollini’s move permanent for £12.9 million. But it would appear that he may struggle to convince Spurs to take up the option.

The report notes that some at Tottenham have concerns about his fitness. And with Spurs currently looking set to play no part in the Europa Conference League knockout stages, he may be struggling to secure many more opportunities between the sticks.

For many Tottenham fans, the idea that Gollini may not stay beyond his loan has come as no surprise. They are yet to be convinced that he would be any sort of upgrade on Lloris.

Other names have been suggested as better targets. Both Sam Johnstone and Dean Henderson have admirers. And while some are not entirely sure how big a factor a goalkeeper’s fitness is in their overall game, they are not too disappointed to learn that the Italian may return to his parent club in the summer.
