There are some at Tottenham Hotspur who have concerns about the fitness of Pierluigi Gollini as they weigh up whether to make his move permanent at the end of the season, according to Charlie Eccleshare from The Athletic.
Gollini arrived on loan in the summer after an impressive spell with Atalanta. It appeared to be a decent coup taking him for the season and replacing Joe Hart as Hugo Lloris’ rival for the number one spot.

Obviously, the Italian is considerably younger than Lloris. And with Tottenham agreeing an option to make the move permanent for £12.9 million, it appeared that Fabio Paratici saw Gollini as the long-term successor to the club captain.
Fast forward a few months, and Gollini has actually done little wrong when he has got a chance. However, it is probably fair to say that he has not been able to put a lot of pressure on Lloris.
Lloris has been superb over the last 12 months. And reports are now suggesting that a new contract could be in the offing for the Frenchman.

Gollini has not featured in the Premier League so far. And Lloris potentially staying surely leaves a question mark over his own future at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Interestingly, The Athletic claims that some at Spurs have concerns over Gollini’s fitness – seemingly hinting that he has plenty to prove to earn a permanent deal.
Europa Conference League exit probably hurts Pierluigi Gollini more than most at Tottenham
Of course, with Tottenham having a few games cancelled of late, much of the talk has centred around their Europa Conference League campaign. And it was announced this week that they will not be involved in the knockout stages.
Obviously, there may be more to come on Tottenham’s future in the competition. But there is no question that Gollini would be affected more than most if Spurs are indeed done in Europe.
He started four of the group games they played. And featuring in the latter stages would have given him the opportunity to impress against some good sides.
Tottenham still have the FA Cup to look forward to. And he has been their goalkeeper in the previous rounds of the Carabao Cup.
But Gollini is probably going to need to impress any time he gets an opportunity. So not staying in Europe this season would be a real blow for the 26-year-old.
