Archie Gray has had a tricky start to the European U21 Championship after he was subbed off for his performance during the Three Lions’ goalless draw with Slovenia.
England Under-21s were held to a rather frustrating 0-0 draw with Slovenia, which leaves them in slight danger in Group B.
Next up for the young England team is a tough test against Germany; meanwhile, Slovenia would need to thrash the Czech Republic to prevent Lee Carsley’s team from advancing.
Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been keeping a close eye on the tournament with Gray, Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel all involved.
However, they have not been best pleased to see what has been happening to Gray throughout the tournament so far, which also occurred at Spurs.

Tottenham fans have been left frustrated at Archie Gray once again playing as a right-back for England Under-21 against Slovenia.
The teenager has now featured as a right-sided defender in both of England’s first two matches, although really he has been forced to, given Carsley’s lack of alternatives

The former Leeds United player struggled at right-back and was subbed off after 64 minutes as England Under-21 went in search of the win.
However, after the game, Spurs supporters took to X to share their disappointment at the midfielder once again being forced to feature as a full-back.
One fan said: “It turns out playing a lot of games out of position in a terrible Spurs team hasn’t helped Archie Gray’s development much.”
There was yet further frustration from supporters: “I’m so tired of seeing Archie Gray being played in defence.”
England’s next match is against Germany on Wednesday, where they just need to avoid defeat to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.

How many times did Archie Gray play defence for Tottenham?
The North London club supposedly signed the teenager to play as a holding midfielder, however, under Ange Postecoglou, he made just seven appearances in the middle of the park.

| Centre-back | 20 |
| Right-back | 9 |
| Midfield | 7 |
| Left-back | 5 |
Postecoglou was a big fan of Gray and admitted that he would be so disappointed if he wasn’t managing him in two or three years’ time.
The 18-year-old featured all the way across the back-four for Tottenham last season, mostly as a central defender filling in for Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
Gray also played as a right-back on 30 occasions during his time with Leeds United in the Championship and it is now quickly becoming his new position.
There will be hope that under Thomas Frank, Gray can flourish with the new Tottenham boss having tried to sign him at Brentford.
