Tottenham Hotspur now face a battle with Marseille for Samuel Iling-Junior in January, but the Ligue 1 side have one major concern over the Juventus starlet.
That is according to a report from Calciomercato, which notes that Juve are ready to negotiate the winger’s departure next month and want a fee of up to £21.5 million.
Samuel Iling-Junior looks to be one of the key targets on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the January window. The 20-year-old has struggled for minutes with the Old Lady this season. And thus, it appears that he is one player Juve are prepared to cash in on.
Tottenham face Marseille battle for Samuel Iling-Junior
Tottenham reportedly scouted Iling-Junior while he was playing for England’s under-21s during the international break. And Calciomercato is also reporting that Spurs want the player and are working on a plan to bring him to North London.

But Calciomercato adds that Marseille are also admirers. However, the report suggests that they believe that the price is excessive. So that will obviously be good news for Spurs if they are more inclined to meet his asking price.
Spurs must strengthen in January
Tottenham definitely need additional depth in January. They have played well since losing the likes of Micky van de Ven and James Maddison to injury. But the results just have not been there.
Iling-Junior is not yet the finished article. But in today’s market, £21.5 million is not a huge outlay for a club like Tottenham – particularly if they believe that he has a very bright future ahead.
He is certainly looking like an ‘excellent‘ talent. And it is a very exciting time to join Tottenham, with Ange Postecoglou making a brilliant start to life in charge of the club.
Marseille’s interest may leave Tottenham with some food for thought as the window edges closer. But it is a positive that the club’s hierarchy are not keen on paying the full amount for the youngster.
