Tottenham are eyeing up a move for Everton’s Anthony Gordon in January as they look to rekindle their interest from the summer.

Gordon was the subject of heavy interest in the last window. Tottenham, Chelsea, and Newcastle were all said to be keen on the Everton man. However, he stayed put in the end. And since then, he’s been in fine form for the Toffees.

However, according to The Sun, Tottenham have already started making enquiries about Gordon for January. It’s claimed Antonio Conte is a big fan of the forward and is pushing Spurs to make their move.

Lauded by Rafa Benitez as being an ‘explosive’ talent, Gordon has also impressed his teammates at Goodison. Indeed, it was claimed that his Everton teammates couldn’t believe just how quick he was in training.

Everton, of course, won’t let Gordon go on the cheap. The Toffees are said to value Gordon at at least the £50m mark.

But with Tottenham pushing for the top four once again and possibly even the title, Conte has cards to use when it comes to convincing his board to spend. Spurs are also into the last 16 of the Champions League.

TBR’s View: Gordon would give Tottenham another dimension

We’ve seen with Spurs how important it is to have those attacking players who can spring quickly on the counter-attack. And you’d have to say Gordon would fit into that and bring more as well.

The loss of Kulusevski and Richarlison in recent weeks has shown the lack of quality in depth at Tottenham. If they could somehow land Gordon, it would go a long way to addressing such issues.

Gordon is a quality player. He is proving it more and more as well under Frank Lampard and in time, he’ll get a big move. Whether or not that move is to Spurs in January, will probably come down to money.
