Tottenham will come back to sign ‘fantastic’ player again if they don’t get him this month

It feels like not a day goes by right now without Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher getting linked to Tottenham Hotspur again.

Gallagher is thought to be high on Ange Postecoglou’s wanted list this winter. The England man has yet to sign a new contract with Chelsea and it’s been claimed the Blues will sell for a guaranteed £45m.

The player himself is believed to be keen on remaining at Chelsea for the time being.

However, that could change in the summer, with The Sun reporting that Gallagher isn’t actually part of Chelsea’s long-term plans and that Tottenham will likely come back for him.

Tottenham will come back for Conor Gallagher this summer

According to the report, sources indicate that Chelsea don’t actually see Gallagher as a major part of their long-term vision going forward.

This, despite Gallagher being the current captain and Mauricio Pochettino making it clear he wants to see the England man stick around this window.

Tottenham, though, will not give up on Gallagher even if they don’t get him this month.

It’s claimed that while Chelsea won’t be letting him go this January, Tottenham will return in the summer in the hope of convincing the Blues to do business then.

Lauded as a ‘fantastic kid’ by Graham Potter, Gallagher is hoping to make the Euro 2024 squad with England.

Right now, being Chelsea captain and playing every week, his chances of that are high. A move to Spurs shouldn’t put that in too much danger, though.

Gallagher to Spurs looking inevitable

Chelsea fans must be wondering what on earth their club are playing at right now.

Yes, there is a need to balance the books and for the £50m they apparently want for Gallagher, it goes a long way to helping on that front.

However, it also means they’re selling a key player, banking on younger players progressing and stepping up, while still needing to go into the market as well.

This is just confusing really from the Blues. But when you strip it all back, it does appear like Gallagher to Tottenham is going to end up getting done along the line.
