Tottenham could repeat James Maddison trick this summer by signing 10-goal midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur certainly struck gold when they signed James Maddison following his Leicester City relegation last summer.

Spurs grabbed a circumstantial bargain, who has now proved to be the key man for the Ange Postecoglou era.

It was always felt as if Maddison still had potential to fulfill, a player who was far too good to be relegated.

And having overcome the disappointment of Leicester’s downfall, Maddison was then faced with Harry Kane’s departure from North London.

Maddison admitted that he was so excited to play with Kane at Spurs, only for their paths to cross incredibly briefly.

That being said, Spurs’ new talisman showed no signs of that frustration on the pitch.

And given Maddison’s success at Tottenham, the club would perhaps be well-advised to look in Leceister’s direction again this summer.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is having a quite incredible season, stepping up for Enzo Maresca’s side, filling the void left by Maddison.

And the midfielder could be the perfect addition for Postecoglou.

After James Maddison success, Totteham should add Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this summer

Dewsbury-Hall, who is now 25-years-old, does seem more than ready to join one of England’s top clubs.

The midfielder has arguably been the best player in the Championship this season, a league that is below his level.

And if Leiceister needed someone to replace Maddison this year, they already had a ready-made star in waiting.

In 31 games Dewsbury-Hall has scored 10 goals for Leicester this season.

Moreover, via The Athletic, the Englishman also has 12 assists meaning he’s had a hand in 32.4 percent of Leicester’s 68 goals so far this season – incredible influence.

And when you consider that Dewsbury-Hall is a homegrown player, something that can’t be ignored in Spurs’ squad building, he would make a very smart addition.

The midfielder would look at home alongside Maddison and the likes of Yves Bissouma or Pape Matar Sarr if he did join Tottenham this summer.

And although Spurs would probably not get such a bargain upon Leicester’s likely return to the Premier League, a move could still represent excellent value.

That being said, it seems as if Tottenham are putting a lot of their focus into the signing of another English talent.
