Fans probably won’t recall too many times in which Tottenham and Arsenal have been locked into a transfer battle of late.
But with Mikel Arteta and Ange Postecoglou both managers of huge ambition, that could be the case moving forward.

Postecoglou’s Tottenham side are still at the very beginnings of their exciting new project, one that could deliver Champions League football in its first season.
Arsenal are much further down the road than Spurs in that respect, with Arteta now targeting the club’s first league title since the 2003-04 season.
Nonetheless, with both North London clubs expected to be in a strong financial position this summer, they could be set for something of a transfer war.
Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite has been proving his rich potential in the Premier League this season, form that should land him a spot in the England squad soon enough.
And according to Mail Sport, both Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in a transfer for the 21-year-old this summer.
However, the report also details that Spurs are now pushing ahead of their rivals for a deal, an ode to how much they want the signing.
Tottenham determined to push ahead of Arsenal for Jarrad Branthwaite transfer
Both Postecoglou and Arteta would benefit from the arrival of a top quality centre-back to push their starting pair.
Cristiano Romero and Micky van de Ven now have a very settled partnership, as do William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

But neither have a player who’s genuinely fighting to steal a starting spot.
Both Radu Dragusin and Jakub Kiwior are fine players respectively, but they’re still learning their trade in the Premier League, and they’re a slight step down from the players ahead of them.
Therefore 6ft 5inch Branthwaite would be an imperious upgrade for both clubs, a player who’s destined for the top level.
Of course, a player with such ‘unbelievable’ potential won’t come cheap, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Everton demanded north of £100m from Tottenham or Arsenal for any transfer.
All that considered, Gary Neville has now made a surprise choice when deciding who he’d like to win the Premier League this year.
