Tottenham could land 'perfect' midfielder likened to De Bruyne for just £13m - journalist
Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinovskyi in recent months.
A few weeks ago, Sport Mediaset reported that Spurs were in pole position for the Ukraine international.
Now, it looks as though Tottenham may have Premier League competition for Malinovskyi’s services.
However, the latest report from Ignazio Genuardi suggests he may be even more of a bargain.
The French journalist took to Twitter – as covered by Sport Witness – to discuss the Malinovskyi state of play.
Genuiardi claims that the 29-year-old ‘continues to be targeted by Marseille’.
However, in a boost to Spurs and the Hammers, Malinovskyi ‘keeps a preference for the Premier League’.
That’s where ‘Tottenham and West Ham are notably interested’.
In addition, the price of a potential deal, said to be around €15-20m, might be ‘problematic’ for the Ligue 1 side.
This probably won’t be the case for either Spurs or the Hammers.
Malinovskyi ticks many boxes for Tottenham – TBR View
Malinovskyi, a versatile and experienced set-piece expert, is a great shout for Tottenham.
The 29-year-old would also tick the new playmaker box, as this is his primary position at Atalanta.
Fans on Twitter have compared him to Kevin De Bruyne, Miralem Pjanic and Bruno Fernandes.
That said, Conte could play him in a variety of positions, including up front and potentially at wing-back.
Reports have previously suggested that he would love to move to Tottenham, so it shouldn’t be hard to land him.
Malinovskyi’s age experience in Serie A and Europe means he should – in theory – hit the ground running for Spurs.
A prior report from Calciomercato claimed that the ‘extraordinary‘ talent would command a £25million fee.
Now, with Atalanta reportedly willing to settle for considerably less, Tottenham may just land themselves a bargain.
