Tottenham considering signing defender Pep Guardiola said ‘definitely’ could’ve played for Man City

Tottenham Hotspur had a fantastic summer transfer window, but they could still do with some defensive cover.

The north London club have one of the best duos in the Premier League in the shape of Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero, but beyond that, they’re incredibly light at the back.

Luckily, the January transfer window isn’t far away now, and help could be on the way.

Spurs have been linked with a number of centre-halves including Trevoh Chalobah and Lloyd Kelly, but one name that won’t go away is Tosin Adarabioyo.

According to 90Min, the Fulham defender is still on Tottenham’s radar and January could represent a great chance to pick up a bargain here.

Indeed, Tosin will be headed into the final six months of his contact come January, and a cut-price deal could be done.

It has to be said that this young man could be perfect for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Standing at 6ft 5, Tosin is a mountain of a man, but don’t let his size fool you, he’s also brilliant on the ball and absolutely rapid.

He’s very similar to Micky Van de Ven in terms of style of play, and he’s very good on the ball.

Tosin’s brilliance on the ball stems from his time in the Manchester City academy, and he was praised by Pep Guardiola during his time at the Etihad, with the City boss claiming at one point that he ‘definitely’ has a future in the first-team.

Unfortunately, Tosin would never play a Premier League game for City, but he’s since proven himself as a Premier League-level defender with Fulham, and he could soon get his big break across London with Tottenham Hotspur.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as we head into the winter.
