Tottenham are now considering a move for ‘very talented’ £25m Brazilian in January

Tottenham Hotspur are now considering a move for Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade in January amid a host of interest from Europe.

That’s according to 90min who revealed that Tottenham are joined by Arsenal in their consideration of Andre.

The Brazilian had long been linked with Liverpool, a move considered a foregone conclusion by some.

But after reports of Liverpool pulling out of any deal yesterday, the £25m midfielder is seemingly back on the market.

Andre had a lot of interest in the summer but wanted to stay and finish the Copa Libertadores with Fluminense, a trophy he was crucial in helping his side lift.

Of course, Ange Postecoglou is likely now discussing the January transfer window with Daniel Levy given the small squad he’s having to choose from.

And although central midfield is one of the more populated areas of Postecoglou’s squad, Fluminense’s Andre may prove too good to pass on for Tottenham.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is often still linked with a January departure, and any potential deal could pave the way for a new signing.

Should reports be believed and Andre does arrive at Tottenham, then he’d certainly have to work hard for a spot in the side.

Yves Bissouma has been remarkably good alongside Pape Matar Sarr.

And even the returning Rodrigo Bentancur, one of Spurs’ best performers in recent years, will have to bide his time.

Of course, this is the level of competition that Postecoglou will demand in his side should they continue to push at the top of the Premier League.

Perhaps in addition to their interest in Fluminense’s ‘very talented‘ Andre, Tottenham are also said to want a new centre-back in January.

Everton’s Ben Godfrey is now linked with a move, a player who has surprisingly fallen down the pecking order under Sean Dyche.

And whilst there may be an opportunity with Godfrey, Crystal Palace are likely to rebuff any interest in Marc Guehi.

Tottenham are said to be long-term admirers but Palace are not interested in a January departure.
