Tottenham are stepping up their efforts to sign a new goalkeeper it seems, with the club keen on signing Valencia stopper, Giorgi Mamardashvili.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Georgian stopper Mamardashvili has emerged on the radar of both Spurs and Manchester United as they look to land new goalkeepers.

Spurs are looking for a replacement for 36-year-old Hugo Lloris, while United are also looking to the future despite David de Gea doing well in recent seasons. Mamardashvili, 23, has impressed for Valencia this season and is seen as one of La Liga’s best ‘keepers.
However, he could come at a hefty price. It’s reported he has a release-clause of around £86m, although both Spurs and United will hope to get him for considerably less than that. A fee of around £25m is mentioned.
For Tottenham, getting rid of Hugo Lloris is a priority, according to Jamie Carragher anyway. The former Liverpool man wrote in his Telegraph column yesterday how Lloris needs moving on. His mistakes last week against Newcastle cost Spurs once more.
TBR’s View: Mamardashvili a risk just like most goalkeepers
Both United and Tottenham do need new stoppers but there is always a risk in signing any goalkeeper. It’s very rare that a club drops on an immediate hit who is world class.
City and Liverpool managed it with Ederson and Alisson. But the likes of Chelsea have spent huge sums on the likes of Kepa and he’s not exactly lit the league up.
Mamardashvili looks to be a good goalkeeper and at less than £30m, might be worth a punt. However, it could be years really before United or Spurs see the perfect De Gea or Lloris replacement arrive
