Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are expected to make a move for Newcastle United winger, Allan Saint-Maximin, according to a report from The Northern Echo.
The French winger is one of the more saleable assets in the Newcastle squad and the NE reports that the Toon could fetch as much as £40m for Saint-Maximin if they decide to cash in. It’s claimed both Chelsea and Tottenham hold and interest and the Toon are indeed bracing themselves for a bid from both London clubs.

For Newcastle, it would allow them to further their budget to go out and land more new players. The Echo reports how bids for Alex Isak and Moussa Diaby hit the buffers recently, but a £40m cash boost from Saint-Maximin leaving could help those moves reignite.
The ‘breathtaking‘ Saint-Maximin has already attracted admiring glances from Spurs this summer. Antonio Conte has already seen his summer spending hit the £100m mark, but more are expected to arrive soon enough.
Saint-Maximin has been one of Newcastle’s most outstanding players in recent years and played a pivotal role in helping the Toon avoid relegation last term.
TBR’s View: Saint-Maximin Can Give Tottenham A Spark They Don’t Have
It would be a surprise to see Newcastle sell Saint-Maximin but if they can reinvest that money like the report claims here, then it might be worth it in the long run.
Saint-Maximin has been excellent at times but has struggled with consistency as well and Eddie Howe might feel there is someone out there who can bring that to the club in his place.
For Tottenham, Saint-Maximin would bring a new element to the attack. They have hard-working players like Kulusevski and co in wide areas but in terms of match-winning quality, the Newcastle man would add a new dimension for Conte.
