‘To the wire’… 21-year-old Arsenal player could leave at last minute

Arsenal are working on a deal to sell Miguel Azeez to Spanish outfit Atletico Baleares before tonight’s deadline.

That’s according to CBS Sports’ James Benge, who claims that there is a real desire to get this deal completed before the window slams shut.

Miguel Azeez was once tipped for a bright future at Arsenal after making his debut for the club back in December 2020.

The talented midfielder was even linked with a move to Barcelona ahead of the last summer transfer window.

But after struggling to break into Mikel Arteta’s side over the past couple of years, Arsenal are willing to offload the youngster ahead of the deadline.

Arsenal working on deal to sell Azeez

Benge took to X this afternoon and claimed that a deal to sell Azeez ‘could run down to the wire’.

Arsenal are ready to offload the youngster permanently and despite a race against time, there is a will to see this one over the line.

He wrote: “Arsenal working on a permanent exit to Spanish club Atletico Baleares for Miguel Azeez, once considered one of the brightest prospects at Hale End.

“This one could run to the wire and may not be concluded before the window shuts but there’s a will to get it done in time.”

Azeez has played just three times for Arsenal’s Under-21s this season after returning from a spell at Wigan Athletic over the summer.

It feels like the right time for Azeez to move on permanently in search of regular first-team football.

The Englishman was once viewed as a future star but his development has stalled over the past year.
