'This is bad news': Antonio Conte suggests 24-year-old Tottenham star won't play again this season after NLD
After Tottenham’s 3-0 north London derby win, Antonio Conte has suggested Cristian Romero will not play again this season.
When the team news dropped, Romero was a shock absentee and Spurs fans may have been fearing the worst because the 24-year-old has been so good in recent weeks.
Even Tottenham’s Premier League rivals think Conte has a superstar on his hands in Romero, but they could be without him for their two crucial games ahead.
Speaking to club media after the game, Conte said that Romero’s injury is worse than first expected and his season could be over.

Conte suggests Romero will not play again this season
“This is bad news,” said Conte.
“Bad news because he received a hit on his hip in the (training) game yesterday.
“Honestly the first time (they saw the injury), the players and medical department didn’t think it was a serious problem.
“Instead the problem is not serious, serious – but I think that he has not the possibility to recover for his last two games.”
Romero would be a big miss for Tottenham because he has been so good but they got by fine without him last night.
The key for Spurs now is to carry on the momentum from last night. Burnley are up next and if Spurs win that, they will be in the top four by the time Arsenal take to the pitch against Newcastle on Monday night.
Romero’s first season in English football has been interrupted by injuries already, but he has shown how good he can be when he is fit.
From a Spurs perspective, they would like him back but it is not worth rushing him and risking further injury.
